The Miracle of the Loaves & Fishes (John 6:1–14)
It started with almost nothing.
Thousands of people were hungry. There was no plan, no provision – just one small offering from a young boy: five loaves of bread and two fish. It seemed laughably insufficient. But in the hands of Jesus, that small gift became the seed of a miracle.
He gave thanks. He broke the bread. And somehow, there was more than enough. Not just enough to satisfy – but enough to overflow.
It’s a story we know well, but one we sometimes forget applies to us.
Because it’s not just about bread.
It’s about surrender.
It’s about faith.
It’s about what happens when we offer God our little – our not-enough, our barely-holding-on, our small dreams or weary hopes, and trust that He can make it more.
This story from the Galilee is still speaking today. It reminds us that we serve a God who multiplies .
In a world that constantly tells us to hold tighter, hoard more, or hide our lack, Jesus invites us to trust. To release. To believe that He is still the God who provides. Still doing the miraculous with what seems too small.
Maybe this week, what you have to offer doesn’t feel like enough. Maybe your energy, your hope, or your faith feels as meager as those five loaves. But that’s where the miracle begins. Are you trusting Him with your “little” today?
From the Land of the Bible, where this miracle first unfolded, we’re lifting prayers for provision, hope, and abundance. If there’s something you’re holding – a need, a longing, a “not enough” – we invite you to place it in Jesus’ hands.
Let’s believe together that He is still multiplying.
