History

The Basilica of the Agony, also known as the Church of All Nations, boasts a recent history steeped in international cooperation. Donations from twelve nations funded the project, with each nation’s unique coat of arms incorporated into the stunning ceiling mosaics. Workers unearthed remnants of a 4th-century Byzantine basilica and a 12th-century Crusader chapel during construction.
