Words of Encouragement for Parents of a Sick Child

What is a good prayer for a sick child?
A good prayer is an honest one. Name the child, tell God what you fear, and ask for His comfort, for healing and for wisdom for the doctors. The short prayer at the top of this page is a simple place to start.
Is it right to pray for my child to be healed?
Yes. Scripture tells of parents who brought their sick children to Jesus, like Jairus, who begged Him to come to his daughter (Mark 5:23). Pray boldly for healing, and trust God with what you cannot control. Prayer is not a replacement for medical care, so keep following your child’s doctors.
How can I pray for a sick child I don’t know well?
Pray for the child by name if you know it, for their parents, and for the people treating them. Prayers 3 and 4 above are written for exactly this.
